Ashlee is a lawyer and trade-mark agent at the firm whose practice encompasses intellectual property, branding, packaging, labelling, marketing and advertising law.
Ashlee assists emerging and established clients from a wide variety of industries in all aspects of brand protection, including copyright, trade-marks, branding and domain name law. Ashlee brings a wide range of experience, including:
- Trade-mark and copyright prosecution, availability and registrability searches, licensing, litigation and brand portfolio management
- Creating strategies for the planning and execution of brand protection strategies
- Assisting clients comply with packaging and labeling regulatory requirements
- Represent clients in domain name disputes
- Managing global brand portfolios
Ashlee trained at one of Canada's premiere Intellectual Property law boutique firms and is actively involved in the Intellectual Property law community. Ashlee:
- is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Toronto, Seneca College and the Registered Graphic Designers Association of Ontario on trade-marks, copyright and branding law
- co-authored a number of articles and publications on trade-mark and related laws
- co-authored a chapter on trade-marks law for the Federal Court Judge's Bench Book
- is a regular contributing author to Osgoode Hall Law School's Intellectual Property and Information Technology program (IP Osgoode)
Ashlee is actively involved with a number of intellectual property law associations including:
- Executive Member of the Toronto Intellectual Property Group
- committee member of the International Trade-mark Law committees of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada
- committee member of the Domain Names and Trade-marks on the Internet Committee with the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada
- committee member of the Emerging Issues committee with the International Trade-marks Association
- committee member of the Limits on Trademarks Rights sub-committee with the International Trade-marks Association
Ashlee has also worked with the United Nations in the Middle East.
