Focus of Practice
Albert Campea resolves workplace conflicts and disputes. He is a senior practitioner with almost twenty years of litigation experience. He has appeared as lead counsel in cases before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Represents & Advises
- Predominantly business owners and business managers of private and family-controlled companies.
Engagements Include
- Wrongful dismissal litigation involving executive-level employees, detailed commission and compensation plans, and shareholder agreements.
- Wrongful competition actions – from breach of fiduciary duties, restrictive covenants, breach of confidence, and calculation of damages.
- The management of all aspects of a litigation file, including pleadings, examinations for discovery, mediation, pre-trial conferences, trials and appeals.
- Advising on employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, and termination packages.

Recent Experience
- Appeared before the Court of Appeal to argue issues of reasonable notice and mitigation of damages.
- Negotiated settlements relating to breach of fiduciary duty litigation.
- Conducted litigation in the defence of officers and directors of organizations involved in wrongful dismissal litigation.
- Conducted trials before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including a trial related to the constructive dismissal of a senior-level executive.
