Chuck Stobie has practiced commercial real estate and municipal law for over twenty years.
During this time he has been involved in land acquisition and disposition, all forms of financing, land severances, conveyancing, leasing, secured financing, mortgage remedies, land use planning, use variations and almost every other aspect and use of commercial property on behalf of clients. He also acts for both borrowers and lenders in secured financing transactions and over the years has provided counsel in a wide variety of transactions from multiple residential acquisitions to complex structural planning for publicly listed companies with diverse commercial real estate interests. From time to time Chuck appears before the Ontario Municipal Board, the Committee of Adjustment, Land Division Committee and other associated regulatory bodies with regard to land use issues. Another aspect of his practice involves commercial leasing, working with both landlords and tenants on all aspects of commercial leases, in particular their negotiation, preparation and enforcement.
His client base is predominantly entrepreneurial, comprised of successful individuals who state clearly that they don't wish to hear that `it can't be done', but rather how the hurdles can be overcome.
Chuck is particularly adept at working through real estate based problems that are somewhat out of the ordinary but may have a profound impact on the overall business continuity or competitiveness. He is used to confronting difficult situations that require looking beyond the boundaries of conventional wisdom and what is possible, to what could be possible, then working with all concerned to negotiate a conclusion in order to accommodate the peculiarities of different situations.
Having been professionally active in the Region and community for many years, Chuck is extremely well connected in local business circles.
