John B. Keyser, Q.C. is a founding partner of the law firm of Keyser Mason Ball, LLP and has been practising at the City of Mississauga for the past three decades.

John studied pre-law at the University of Toronto and later obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1960. In 1962 he was called to the Bar of Ontario and has been in practise since that time. In 1978 John received his designation as one of Her Majesty's Counsel.

John specializes in the area of Land Development and Municipal Law, together with the service of the self-employed business clients.

As part of his interest in this community, John has served as a member of the Committee of Adjustment for both the Town of Mississauga and later for the City of Mississauga for some 35 years and had been its Chairman since 1985. During the same time, he served on the Land Division Committee for the Regional Municipality of Peel as Vice-Chairman and later as the Chairman of the Committee.

John's practice is centered on municipal law and corporate commercial law. Over the years John has been engaged in carrying out the legal functions required for municipal developments which began with an agricultural field and resulted in intensive urban developments. In the corporate commercial field, John has been instrumental in helping clients in forming corporations which have grown into substantial employers and property owners.

John's interests include the Mississauga Board of Trade where he has served both as a Director and as the President. He has also served on the Mississauga Business Development Advisory Board. John received the Commemorative Medal granted by the Governor General of Canada in 1993 and has recently been recognized by the Benchers of the Law Society of Upper Canada, being awarded a Bicentennial Tribute. In 2002, John was recognized with the award of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. These recognitions are awarded for meaningful professional and personal services within a lawyer's community.

John's special interests include Community Living Mississauga and has served as Co-Chair of the corporate fundraiser for a period of five years. He has also served ten years as a member of the Advisory Board of Governors of the Greater Toronto YMCA. John was named as Volunteer of the Year in 1994. He has taken part in fundraising for the benefit of the Living Arts Centre of Mississauga and served on its Cabinet.
