Focus of Practice

Megan Burkett practices in the area of management labour relations and employment law supporting both unionized and non-unionized clients. Megan is routinely involved in assisting clients in compliance issues and the business aspects of workplace law as well as the broad spectrum of services provided by our Human Resources Law team.

Represents & Advises

Private companies and family controlled companies from small sole proprietorships to large businesses with substantial workforces;
Professional partnerships;
Unionized and non unionized companies;
Companies operating in the public and private sectors.

Engagements Include

Wrongful dismissals, employment contracts, workplace policies, employee management, employee discipline, termination and employment standards;
Contract interpretation and grievances;
Conducting workplace investigations;
Appearing in matters before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, in Superior Court and at the Ontario Labour Relations Board;
Support and proactive advice on all aspects of Human Resources management and workplace law.
