Focus of Practice

Walter Kravchuk practices in the areas of commercial litigation and general civil litigation, with a focus on corporate collections and debtor/creditor litigation. Walter’s interests also lie in areas of partnership disputes, breach of contract claims, as well as insurance litigation involving property damage and/or losses.

Engagements Include

• Advising clients in debtor/creditor disputes: Offering solutions ranging from demand letters, informal settlement discussions to mediation or taking a matter to trial;
• Representing both individuals and corporations in breach of contract disputes, recovery and collection of liquidated debt, negligence resulting in property loss, and other civil disputes potentially requiring litigation;
• Attending at various levels of Ontario courts for motions, pre-trial conferences, and trial.

Recent Experience

• March 2011 – obtained a monetary award and legal costs at trial concerning a negligent corporate defendant
• January 2011 – obtained a judgment via contested summary judgment motion dismissing an action against my client in the sum of $200,000; also awarded legal costs
• October 2010 – co-author of an article for the LSUC titled ‘Sheriff’s Enforcement of Writs of Seizure & Sale’, presented at the LSUC Seminar “The Six-Minute Debtor-Creditor & Insolvency Lawyer 2010”
