Melissa is an Associate at KMB Law and head of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group.

Melissa’s practice primarily focuses on helping clients navigate the civil litigation and dispute resolution process. She is a commercial litigator with broad based advocacy experience. She has handled a range of commercial disputes including: breach of contract disputes, technology disputes, product liability claims, construction disputes, insurance coverage, corporate fraud, franchise disputes, environmental contamination, and municipal taxation disputes. She has assisted in the defence of consumer class actions, dealership disputes, and allegations of automotive and aircraft defects.

Melissa has represented clients, before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Assessment Review Board and in private arbitrations. She has represented clients in regulatory matters with Transport Canada and Health Canada.

Prior to joining KMB Law, Melissa worked as an associate at the Toronto offices of two litigation boutiques, focusing most recently on municipal property tax litigation and prior to that product liability and insurance coverage. She started her career at KMB law as a summer student in May of 2009, before joining the Toronto offices of a prominent national firm as a summer student, Articling Student and Associate.

Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies from Queen’s University in 2007 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law in 2011. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012.
