KMB Law is seeking a Senior Litigation Lawyer with a minimum of 10+ years of law firm experience. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented and able to demonstrate strong communication skills.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and enhance a strong litigation practice in conjunction with experienced professionals in a dynamic and challenging legal environment.
Position Overview:
The Litigation Lawyer will assist with the performing of a variety of substantive, complex and routine legal activities with a commitment to legal excellence.
This position may be located at our head office in Mississauga or in our Toronto office.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various matters.
- Develop and implement legal strategies in collaboration with clients and other team members.
- Independent carriage of files and collaboration on files with senior litigators.
- Work with and supervise junior lawyers and students.
- Represent clients in court and arbitration proceedings, while providing practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Support other firm practice areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
The following would be an asset:
- 10+ years of good quality civil and commercial litigation experience.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, hardworking and personable.
- Strong advocacy skills.
- Experience in complex litigation cases.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in legal drafting with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Partner or designate, the Corporate and Commercial Associate will support the corporate department by performing a variety of substantive, complex and routine legal transactions. They are responsible for managing the process from start to finish and assigning work as appropriate.
The Corporate and Commercial Associate will also be responsible for managing, developing and maintaining the relationship with the Corporate, Mergers & Acquisition teams to meet our client’s needs.
This position is located at our Mississauga location. The hours of work are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., however the successful candidate may be required to work outside of normal business hours to meet business and client needs.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Assist Partners in managing all aspects of Corporate and Commercial deals from start to finish focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions, Business relationships, Corporate/Commercial matters, and implementation of Private Equity transactions.
- Assist in preparing and administering financing transactions and contract and business enterprise matters.
- Prepare documentation related to Mergers, Acquisitions, Financings and Commercial relationships.
- Assist with negotiating and drafting of Shareholder, Partnership and numerous other Ownership agreements.
- Prepare and file business name, partnership and limited partnership registrations, amendments and /or renewals.
- participate in the education of articling and summer students and lawyers within the firm, responding to inquiries as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
The following would be an asset:
- Minimum of two- five (2-5) years’ experience in corporate law and be able to manage files with little supervision. Candidates with less than two (2) years’ experience will not be considered.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with supervising lawyers and other employees as part of the team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to work with clients directly and with minimal direction.
- Experience handling a wide range of clients, from startup, multigenerational family business and multi-national corporations.
- Experience in drafting and negotiation of transactional documents.
The salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000

Position Overview:
The Employment Law Associate will assist with a variety of substantive, complex, and routine legal activities and report to the Head of the Employment & Labour Practice Group.
This non-remote position will be located at our head office in Mississauga.
The ideal candidate will advise mainly employer clients on all matters of employment and labour law, human rights law, and employment litigation (including trials, hearings, appeals, summary trials, and summary judgment motions). The ideal candidate will have experience or familiarity in civil litigation, employment standards and practices, wrongful dismissal, human rights and accommodation, occupational health and safety, and drafting and reviewing documents.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Providing immediate and/or long-term advice on employment and labour matters.
- Managing own set of litigation files (from start to finish).
- Working closely with other lawyers as co-counsel on court and tribunal proceedings.
- Drafting contracts, policies, investigations, correspondence, settlements, restrictive covenants, compensation plans, and other documents as needed, related to employment and labour matters, occupational health and safety, human rights
- Preparing draft materials and/or all materials required for discoveries and other advocacy opportunities.
- Conducting or assisting on discoveries, motions, applications and trials or arbitrations
- Communicating with all parties that form part of the caseload.
- Liaison with other practice groups with duties related to client relationship management and firm marketing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
The following would be an asset:
- At least two (2) years of employment law/litigation experience.
- Strong command of Ontario civil procedure and practice.
- In-court experience, in person and virtually.
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, affidavits, factums, and other litigation documents.
- Independent handling of matters.
- Experience using legal software and other practice-based software such as WestLaw, CanLII, Case Center, and other litigation assistance software.
- Experience with all word processing tools including Microsoft Office, advanced PDFs.
The salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000
