Michael Tavernese

Michael Tavernese is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate, including commercial purchases and sales, land development, secured lending, and commercial leasing.

Michael supports clients across a range of real estate transactions, including the acquisition and sale of commercial properties, drafting and negotiating leases, and assisting with financing matters. Prior to law school, he worked at a large real estate management company, where he was involved in the acquisition of commercial properties and leasing matters. This experience gives him a practical, business-minded approach to his legal work and contributes to his ability to navigate complex transactions efficiently.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where he was actively involved in the Queen’s Law community as Co-President of the Queen’s Law Golf Club, a member of the Queen’s Real Estate Law Association, and a mentor with the Queen’s Commerce and Law Association.

He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys playing golf and chess, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
